Welcome to the Chicago Tribune's home on the World Wide Web, and thanks for coming to our registration page. Over the next couple of months, we will be phasing in registration for full access to all of our pages, followed by paid subscription access to additional services--such as a full week's worth of stories from the printed newspaper--on Sept. 1, 1996.The first 5,000 individuals to register will become charter subscribers, with the monthly subscription fee waived through March, 1997, the end of our first year of operation. (In addition, as part of the Tribune's "Press Pass" program, registered users who pay for at least 6 months of the printed newspaper at a time will have their monthly Internet fees waived.)
Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Any information you disclose will not be released to third parties if you direct us not to do so. From time to time, products and services that may be of value to you will be offered by third parties interested in your business; the registration form provides a mechanism allowing you to opt out of receiving any offers based on registration information (just click the check box labeled "DON'T Sign Up for the Member Mailing List").
Terms of Service
Please read the following Terms of Service, to which you will be asked to agree upon completing our registration form.All materials contained in the Chicago Tribune's Internet sites and services are the copyrighted property of the Chicago Tribune and its affiliated companies, licensors and suppliers. This copyrighted material is intended for the personal use of users of the sites and services. Distribution, performance, public display and/or commercial use of any of these materials is strictly prohibited. . While you may view and otherwise interact with the text, images, and other content (the "Content") within our sites and services and download a copy of some of that Content for your personal noncommercial entertainment and information, you may not reproduce, distribute, modify, display, repost or otherwise use this Content in any other way without the written consent of the Chicago Tribune. These terms of service will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflicts of law provisions, and any cause of action you may have with respect to the Chicago Tribune's World Wide Web sites and bulletin boards must be filed in the State of Illinois within one year after the cause of action or the cause is barred.
